I grew up in rural Idaho during the early days of personal computers, where limited access only fueled my fascination with electronics. From a young age, I demonstrated a knack for understanding technology, sometimes to the point of mischief, like the time I humorously locked my technology teacher out of the school system. Overall, my passion for electronics has always driven me forward.
My career began with 16 years split between military and law enforcement roles. While frequent moves posed challenges in college, they also broadened my experience. Regardless of my job, electronics remained my true calling. I began my career in the military as a transportation specialist before transitioning to communications. As an Idaho State Trooper, I played a key role in piloting and recommending the state’s first E-Ticketing software. After my second deployment to Iraq, I decided to prioritize my family and transitioned to civilian life, grateful for the lessons learned in the military.
After leaving the military, I joined a company focused on helping people with disabilities achieve career independence through technology. I provided one-on-one instruction in computer use and troubleshooting, helping clients earn valuable IT certifications. Seeking greater challenges and growth opportunities, I transitioned to a managed service provider. Although I enjoyed the work, limited advancement on the help desk prompted me to seek new horizons.
In 2013, I joined Act Systems Ltd and quickly demonstrated expertise beyond desktop support. Under the mentorship of founder Baron Black, I developed new skills and ultimately became his business partner. When Baron retired in 2026, I proudly purchased the company. My passion for Act Systems Ltd continues to grow, and I credit our success to our incredible clients, who inspire us to deliver exceptional service every day.
